Frequently Asked Questions

How do I edit text in a PDF?
Select the Edit Text tool (⌘E) and click on any text in your PDF. You can retype, delete, or add new text directly. Typemark uses its own rendering engine to reflow text naturally — no re-exporting required.
How does OCR work?
OCR (optical character recognition) makes scanned documents searchable and selectable. Go to Tools > Batch Processing > OCR or use it on individual pages. It runs entirely on your Mac through Apple's Vision framework — no internet connection needed, no data sent anywhere.
How do I merge or split PDFs?
To merge, go to File > Merge PDFs and drag in the files you want to combine. Reorder them as needed, then save. To split, open the Page Organizer (View > Page Organizer), select the pages you want to extract, and export them as a new document.
How do I sign a document?
Select the Signature tool from the toolbar. You can draw your signature with a trackpad or mouse, or add an image of your signature. Once created, place and resize it anywhere on the document. Signatures are stored locally for reuse.
Which macOS versions are supported?
Typemark requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It's optimised for Apple silicon but runs on Intel Macs as well.
What should I do if Typemark crashes?
Typemark auto-saves your work, so your document should be recoverable when you reopen the app. If the crash persists, go to Help > Report a Bug and select "Crash" as the category — this attaches diagnostic information that helps us fix the issue. You can also use the contact form below.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
In Typemark, go to Help > Report a Bug. You can submit crash reports, bug reports, or feature requests. System information is attached automatically to help us diagnose issues. You can also reach us through the contact form below.
